Job description

We're looking for an experienced Financial Crime professional to join BOQ Group as a Team Leader within AML.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise with people leadership. While you'll be responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of analysts, we're looking for someone who enjoys staying close to the work and acting as a trusted subject matter expert across AML operations.

You'll provide guidance on complex matters, support the team with technical queries, help maintain strong risk and compliance outcomes, and contribute to the ongoing success of the function. Whether you're helping analysts navigate investigations, supporting capability uplift, or identifying opportunities to improve processes, you'll play an important role in ensuring the team delivers high-quality outcomes while meeting regulatory obligations.

Joining the team at an exciting time of change and evolution, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support operational transformation, and help shape the future direction of AML Operations. This is a role where you'll be able to make a genuine impact while working alongside a collaborative and highly experienced team

About you

You – our preferred candidate will have strong Financial Crime experience and are recognised as a trusted subject matter expert within the field. You've built your career across areas such as AML/CTF operations, transaction monitoring, investigations, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, regulatory reporting or broader Financial Crime risk management, and you're confident applying risk-based judgement in a fast-paced environment.

While previous leadership experience would be highly regarded, it's not essential. We would also love to hear from experienced Senior Analysts who have demonstrated leadership capability through mentoring, coaching, training and supporting the development of others. You're someone colleagues naturally turn to for guidance, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge to help lift capability across a team.

You balance attention to detail with a practical mindset, communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, and are always looking for opportunities to improve the way work gets done.

If you're looking for an opportunity where your Financial Crime expertise will genuinely be valued and where you can make a meaningful impact while supporting others to grow, we'd love to hear from you!
