Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia invites applications for an inspiring AOD Team Leader to lead a residential, participant-led service on the NSW Central Coast. You will guide assessment, case management, referrals and education, supporting participants toward recovery within TSA guidelines and values.

Located in Fountaindale, this full-time role reports to the Service Manager. SCHADS Level 6 salary and benefits apply, with ongoing training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong leadership and team supervision capabilities.
  • Experience working with justice-involved clients preferred.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and recovery-oriented approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a dedicated team delivering assessment, case management, referral and education.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery in line with The Salvation Army’s guidelines and values.
  • Build and maintain effective referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor team performance and support professional development.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, participant-led service delivery.

We are looking for an inspiring AOD Team Leader to join our team and play a key role in delivering participant-led, recovery-focused services that genuinely change lives.

As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership, guidance and support to a dedicated team, while helping ensure participants receive high-quality assessment, case management, referral, education and support in line with The Salvation Army’s guidelines and values.

Our service supports a significant number of people involved with the Criminal Justice system. You will have the opportunity to work alongside people who may be facing some of life’s biggest challenges and support them to build a different future.

Located in Fountaindale on the NSW Central Coast, this full-time, permanent role is based within a 40-bed residential AOD facility and reports to the Service Manager.

Salary: In accordance with SCHADS Award Level 6.

How you will make an impact
  • Report to service manager on service performance with the aim of growing the existing service and client base
  • Manage day to day operations, roll out of program changes and service/staff performance
  • Support the efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery orientated and person led service environment
  • Monitor the performance of and provide support to direct reports to deliver quality, efficient and effective services
  • Build strong referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in beneficial outcomes for participants
What you will bring
  • Relevant degree or Diploma in AOD, Community Services, Case Management or a related discipline.
  • Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set units, or willingness to complete them.
  • 3+ years’ management experience in AOD, community services, health or related sectors.
  • Experience working with criminal justice clients and understanding of the criminal justice system.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, build capability and improve service delivery.
  • Experience supporting people impacted by AOD, gambling and mental health challenges.
  • Experience working with diverse cultural, linguistic and religious backgrounds.
  • Strong de-escalation and problem-solving skills when managing challenging or unpredictable situations.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
