Job summary

KBR is seeking a Team Lead – Senior Technical Advisor in Melbourne to guide a power systems team of engineers and drafters on major infrastructure projects. You will direct investigations, designs, specifications and technical services while mentoring staff, optimizing resources and delivering on schedule and budget.

You will foster strong client relationships, support business development and lead proposal efforts, contributing to growth and capability development across the team.

As Power Systems Team Lead, you'll lead a team of electrical engineers and drafters delivering investigations, designs, specifications and technical services for major infrastructure projects. You'll provide technical direction, mentor engineers, manage resources, oversee project performance and build strong client relationships. The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to business growth, proposal development and strategic client engagement. You'll play a key role in developing team capability, maintaining technical excellence and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Who are you? You are a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in high voltage and power systems design and delivery within a consulting or infrastructure environment. You have a proven track record of leading technical teams, managing project delivery and fostering positive client relationships.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
• Strong management and leadership in power systems, transmission, distribution or rail traction systems
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects to budget, schedule and quality requirements
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proposal development and project management experience
• Ability to coach and develop engineers, designers and drafters
• A proactive approach to business development and client engagement
• Significant management and leadership industry experience (20+ years highly regarded)
