Job summary

Icon Oncology Group in Australia leads an established oncology and hematology research unit and is seeking an experienced Team Lead to guide Wesley Research Unit through growth. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive operational performance, and manage a growing portfolio of clinical trials within a supportive leadership network.

Role is Monday to Friday with no weekends, offering opportunities for leadership development and impact within a national research network committed to patient

Qualifications

• Substantial clinical research experience and site-based trial operations knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or coordinating others.
• Sound knowledge of GCP, protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Strong operational judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence building relationships with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams.
• A practical, accountable and solutions-focused leadership style.

Lead an established oncology and haematology research unit through its next phase of growth.

We are seeking an experienced clinical research professional to lead the Wesley Research Unit, with responsibility for team leadership, operational performance and the delivery of a growing clinical trial portfolio.

Based within our Wesley clinical trials unit, you will lead an experienced multidisciplinary team, strengthen day-to-day operating rhythms and help shape the sustainable growth of one of Queensland's leading oncology research sites.

As Team Lead, you will provide day-to-day leadership, operational oversight and strategic direction for the site, supporting a growing portfolio of studies while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

About the Role

As Team Lead, you will be responsible for the operational leadership and performance of the Wesley Research Unit. You will support team members in delivering clinical trials safely, ethically and in accordance with protocol, GCP and regulatory requirements while ensuring the site continues to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing the Wesley research team
• Providing day‑to‑day operational oversight and support
• Managing workforce planning, resource allocation and study distribution
• Supporting feasibility, recruitment, onboarding and professional development of staff
• Driving high‑quality clinical trial delivery and participant experience
• Building strong relationships with investigators, sponsors and key stakeholders

About You
