Job summary

Partner Company in Australia seeks a hands-on Team Lead, Human Data Operations – Vision, Image & Video to build high-quality human data for AI systems. You will lead a team of AI Tutors responsible for labeling, reviewing, and evaluating visual data across image and video domains, owning quality and deliverables, and shaping operational standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training or evaluation, or related operational field.
• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with data quality metrics, annotation workflows, and guideline-driven processes.
• Familiar with project management and collaboration tools such as Notion, Axiom, JIRA, Linear.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and high-quality training data importance.
• Quality assurance experience in creative/visual projects; photography or design background is a plus.
• Experience leading small teams in data labeling, annotation, QA, or related operations preferred.
• Knowledge of prompting and AI-powered image/video tools is a plus.
• Strong multi-project management, prioritization, and fast-paced execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned human data projects, reviewing for accuracy and guideline adherence.
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of AI Tutors with regular feedback and development.
• Participate in labeling and review activities to maintain quality standards.
• Manage guideline adherence, taxonomy processes, QA workflows, and certification standards.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency and throughput.
• Track team performance through KPIs and dashboards including quality metrics and throughput.
• Develop training materials, practice exercises, and certification benchmarks; oversee certifications.
• Partner with Human Data Managers and Engineering to translate model requirements into labeling strategies.
• Foster high-performance culture, accountability, and disciplinary processes when required.
• Document outcomes, risks, and results; propose process improvements and provide status updates.
• Represent needs of AI Tutors and promote collaboration across the Human Data organization.
