$130,206 to $143,223 plus superannuation

Salary: $130,206 to $143,223 plus superannuation
Employment Status: Full-time (12 Month Contract or Secondment)
Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Start Date: Negotiable

This role is for an identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Communication with Aboriginal families and forming partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations and Elders is essential.

About Us

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs).

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools, ELCs and the CEO through seven Service Areas. These Service Areas include: Education and Performance Improvement; Catholic Identity; School and Family Services; Strategy and Special Projects; Finance and Infrastructure; Information and Communication Technology; and People and Culture.

About the Role

CECG is seeking a dedicated education professional to lead and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education across our school system. This role provides expert advice to school leaders and staff on cultural responsiveness, community protocols, and inclusive teaching practices. It is responsible for developing and implementing culturally safe programs, supporting Aboriginal Education Workers (AEWs), and coordinating key cultural events such as NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week.

The position also supports the integration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in curriculum and faith-based programs, while fostering strong connections with families and communities, mentors staff, facilitates professional learning, and contributes to system-wide improvement through collaboration, resource development, and participation in advisory committees.

About the Team

The Teaching & Learning Officer - Aboriginal Education sits in the School and Family Services Area, responsible for supporting the Archdiocese in a variety of ways. School and Family Services works with clinical experts and curriculum advisers and provides insightful and culturally sound advice to schools, to ensure the continued growth of curriculum and programs across schools in the Archdiocese and support schools and their communities at a local level. This role works as a part of a team to make impactful change with a hands-on approach.
