The Role

Dianella Heights PS is seeking motivated, innovative and highly skilled Primary Teachers who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Suitable applicants will ideally display a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, support whole‑school processes and priorities, and actively participate in collaborative planning, professional learning and instructional coaching.

We are seeking teachers who inspire students to develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning and who create vibrant, engaging and supportive classroom environments. Highly regarded applicants will ideally display an ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community. They should employ proactive and consistent strategies to support positive student behaviour, engagement and wellbeing, enabling students to achieve successful outcomes both in and beyond the classroom.

Suitable applicants should display their ability to implement evidence‑based teaching practices that have resulted in measurable improvements in student outcomes. This should include a strong understanding and application of explicit instruction, including effective modelling, guided practice, checking for understanding and opportunities for independent application. Applicants should display an understanding of how effective teaching practices support students to transfer knowledge from short‑term to long‑term memory and apply their learning with increasing independence.

Applicants who display a strong capacity to plan, deliver and assess differentiated, challenging and engaging learning programs will be highly regarded. They should be able to display how they have effectively used student achievement and other relevant data to identify learning needs, inform teaching decisions, monitor progress and improve both academic and socio‑emotional outcomes.

Suitable applicants will ideally display knowledge and practical application of Dianella Heights PS's whole‑school priorities, evidence‑based teaching programs and agreed instructional practices. They should contribute positively to a collaborative professional culture and demonstrate a willingness to share practice, engage in reflective professional learning and work collectively to improve outcomes for all students.
