Job summary

York District High School (DHS) is an Independent Public School delivering excellence and innovation in education. This 12 month fixed term, full-time position commences Term 1, 2027 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Job description

This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency York District High School (DHS) is an Independent Public School which delivers an education characterised by excellence and innovation. The Role

• Capacity to plan curriculum including scope, sequencing, and lesson design collaboratively
• Strong teaching and classroom management skills, including Classroom Management Strategies
• Data analysis skills and evidence-based planning to improve literacy and numeracy results for all students
• Confident use of ICT in the classroom
• Engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data.

Ideally, we seek motivated applicants with a passion for teaching at the middle and upper primary level, possessing a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. In your role as a primary teacher, you should ideally deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Your dedication to academic excellence and high-quality teaching and learning will set the standard for our learning community.

Strong behaviour support capabilities, grounded in genuine, positive relationships, are vital in this context. The successful applicants will adopt the whole school PBS approach to behaviour management and embed trauma-informed approaches and cultural awareness in the classroom and whole-school environment.
