Job summary

Infant Jesus School Morley invites a dynamic and creative Music Teacher to join our community. This full-time role may include other specialist duties (currently drama) as determined by the successful candidate’s strengths. We are open to splitting the role and there is potential for continued employment beyond 2027.

The ideal candidate will bring a clear commitment to Catholic Education objectives, excellent planning, and the ability to engage and inspire students in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 4-year tertiary qualifications.
• Appropriate teaching qualifications in Music and Music Education.
• Accreditation to Teach would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Teach Music to students across the year levels with differentiated learning.
• Possibly take on other specialist roles (currently drama) depending on strengths; splitting the role may be possible.

Position Details

Infant Jesus School, Morley is a double stream co-educational primary school catering for children from Pre-Kindy to Year 6 with an approximate enrolment of 500 students. The school has a strong sense of community with an emphasis on pastoral care and acceptance of all cultural and social backgrounds and needs. The school enjoys a close relationship with the parish and strong support from the parent community. Infant Jesus School offers a vibrant curriculum, and we are looking for dynamic and creative Music Teacher who is committed to their teaching vocation. The fulltime role also encompasses other specialist roles (currently drama) which will be determined by the successful candidates’ strengths. We are open to the possibility of splitting the role. There is a possibility of continued employment beyond 2027.

Selection Criteria

• A clear commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
• Be an exemplary, enthusiastic educator who works well to plan for and implement teaching programs that improve student outcomes.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum (The Arts – Music) with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and differentiated learning across the year levels.
• Experience in leading music and choral ensembles.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Integrate digital technologies into an engaging teaching program.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe environment.
• Understand the importance of developing positive relationships with children, staff and parents and can demonstrate evidence of such actions.
• Demonstrate an ability to take on extra roles and be involved in creative performances.
