Teacher Librarian (0.8FTE) - Wyrallah Road Public School
Position Information

Wyrallah Road Public School is situated in East Lismore on the North Coast of New South Wales. The school proudly stands on the land of the Widjabal/Wiyabal people of the Bundjalung nation. WRPS has an enrolment of 354 students (including 17% Aboriginal students), enrolled from K-6. Our school is a committed member of the Lismore Community of Schools which feeds into The Rivers Secondary College. We benefit from a supportive and active Parents and Citizens\' Association, and an engaged Student Representative Council. Educational programs include Positive Behaviour for Learning, English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D), various sporting endeavours, choirs, dance groups and instrumental programs. Technology is a focus area with interactive whiteboards, computers and iPads in every classroom. The school\'s reputation is enhanced by an enthusiastic staff committed to the school\'s traditions and values. The school is an integral hub in the community of East Lismore, valuing and promoting strong partnerships with our families, the local community and educational networks. As guided by a highly diverse community, we aspire to provide high-quality and inclusive education for all. We have a valued, consultative partnership with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), the Bundjalung Language Nest and the WRPS Aboriginal Community Team, embedding and celebrating culture within our school. Specific and robust Learning and Support programs have been strengthened through increased expert staffing, professional learning and resourcing to support students with learning needs.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with the ability to develop and deliver high-quality release from face-to-face programs.
  • Evidence of highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, enhance practice, and build positive and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community.
  • Well-developed skills in managing student behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing, with a proven capacity to support students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness and experience in teaching across the school K-6, including in positions outside the library and programs such as music, band and choir.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8FTE (full time equivalent)

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months
