Job summary

Googong High School in New South Wales seeks a Food Technology teacher to join as a founding member of our interdisciplinary STEM faculty, alongside Mathematics and Science. The role supports an innovative, curriculum-driven approach built on Learning Sciences.

You will collaborate across school initiatives, contribute to high-impact teaching, and help implement the RECONI skills framework while engaging a diverse student community as the school opens to years 7 and 8 in 2027.

Job description

Googong High School will open to year 7 and 8 students in 2027. Situated in the Queanbeyan Network on Ngambri and Ngunnawal Country, the school serves a rapidly growing, highly engaged and aspirational community, with the potential for the school to expand to cater for approximately 2000 students. The Teacher - Food Technology - will be a founding member of our interdisciplinary STEM faculty. This faculty will encompass Mathematics, Science and TAS. Whilst this role is for a Food Technology Teacher, successful applicants will take a key role in being part of larger school initiatives. Googong High School is being designed around an exciting and innovative curriculum structure that is founded in Learning Sciences. As a new school with the opportunity to establish a dynamic and contemporary culture, the school is building a learning design that reflects a broad research base in effective and modern teaching practices. This includes a whole school skills framework (RECONI) and teachers are well placed to build on these learning skills both through direct teaching and supporting other staff to implement these skills in their own subjects.
