Job summary

The BUSY School, part of The BUSY Group, is seeking a Maths teacher for Year 11 and 12 at the Cleveland Campus. This permanent full-time role focuses on re-engagement and delivering Essential Maths in a supportive learning environment.

You will join a not-for-profit network offering small classes, PD opportunities, and generous benefits. Applicants should hold a teaching qualification and Queensland teacher registration eligibility.

Job description

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 47 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.

About the position...

Based at our Cleveland Campus, your role will be to re-engage and teach Essential Maths to Year 11 or 12 students.

This role is a permanent full-time position.

• Hold full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland
