Merrylands High School is a comprehensive high school in Sydney's South West with a growing population that currently sits at over 839 students. The school is proud to celebrate its cultural and linguistic diversity, with 87.3% of students having a non-English speaking background shared across a total of 45 unique languages. The school has 7 support classes, 3 Multi-Categorical and 4 Autism classes.

Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language (secondary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
