Job summary

WA College of Agriculture – Cunderdin is seeking a Design and Technology Teacher or Vocational Trainer and Assessor (VTA) to join our team. Appointments may be made for vacancies commencing in 2027, with permanent or fixed-term, full-time or part-time options.

In this role, you will design and deliver engaging programs aligned with VET Certificate courses in Building and Construction, Furniture Making, Automotives or Engineering Pathways.

Qualifications

• Qualified Design and Technology teacher or accredited VTA with industry experience.
• Experience in Automotive, Engineering, Building and Construction or Furniture Making preferred.
• Willingness to gain necessary qualifications to deliver Certificate training.

Responsibilities

WA College of Agriculture – Cunderdin (WACOA – Cunderdin) is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher - Design and Technology or Vocational Trainer and Assessor (VTA) to join our dynamic team.

Whether you are a qualified Design and Technology teacher, an experienced vocational trainer and assessor, or a skilled tradesperson with industry expertise, we encourage you to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a practical, hands-on learning environment where students can develop valuable design, technology, trade and vocational skills.

We support non-qualified teaching staff to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to deliver Certificate training to students. These qualifications can also open doors to delivering vocational training in other settings, including TAFE and private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

The Role

In this role, suitable applicants will design and deliver engaging programs aligned with VET Certificate courses in Building and Construction, Furniture Making, Automotives or Engineering Pathways. While experience in Vocational education and training (VET) delivery and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is ideal, it's not essential. Industry qualifications and current experience are highly desirable.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
