The role involves high-volume preparation of tax returns for individuals, estates and trusts, liaison with the ATO, and providing timely tax advice.

The position offers hybrid working arrangements with two days from home and a competitive hourly rate of $47.29 for the contract duration.

Our client is a NSW Government agency who are seeking an experienced Tax Advisory Officer to join their team in Sydney, NSW .

Role summary

The Tax Advisory Officer will be responsible for the preparation of high-volume individual, estate and trust tax returns, checking Notices of Assessment, answering income tax queries and maintaining regular communication with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of high-volume individual, trust and estate tax returns.


• Checking Notices of Assessment and addressing any taxation-related issues.


• Answering income tax queries and responding to ATO correspondence.

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in preparing individual, estate and trust tax returns.


• Experience reviewing Notices of Assessment and handling income tax queries.


• Strong communication and organisational skills, with experience liaising with the ATO.
