Job summary

TAFE Queensland invites dynamic Educators to join our talent pool in Townsville or Cairns, delivering high-quality VET programs in refrigeration and related trades. You will work across full-time, part-time, or casual engagements, with opportunities to travel and be supported to obtain required training credentials.

Qualifications

• Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered (UEE32225 or equivalent).
• Possession of one of the listed training and assessment credentials (TAE40122/TAE40116/TAE40110; or Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor).
• Higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
• Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
• Evidence of undertaking professional development in vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outcomes-focused vocational education and training (VET) programs.
• Link with industry, schools, universities, other TAFE and VET providers.
• Maintain currency with industry practices, workplace delivery and contemporary teaching methodologies and philosophies.

This position reports to the Business Manager.

TAFE Queensland regularly has vacancies (short and long term) for educators in various qualification delivery areas.

This talent pool may be open for up to 12 months and is for opportunities as they become available.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

a. Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;

• UEE32225 - Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology or equivalent

b. Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:

• TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
• TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
• TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
• TAE50122 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
• TAE50111 TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
• TAE50211 TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
• A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:
  • TAESS00024 - VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor; or
  • TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 - Assessor Skills Set or its successor; or
• Higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

c. Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

d. Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

e. Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
