The role
As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you’ll be all about delivering smart, people-first hiring solutions across the Department. You’ll work closely with managers and executives to shape recruitment strategies that meet today’s needs and build a workforce ready for the future.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Talent Acquisition, you’ll lead a team of six and manage end-to-end recruitment, offer expert, data-informed advice, and make sure every hire is a great experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

You’ll handle high-volume recruitment while staying sharp on compliance with NSW Government legislation. You’ll coach your team, manage escalations, and drive improvements that make recruitment smoother, more inclusive, and more effective. Whether it’s partnering with external providers or using data to guide decisions, you’ll be right at the centre of making recruitment better every day.

What you will bring to the role

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to lead and coach recruitment teams, set clear goals and support professional growth to deliver high-quality services.
  • Skilled in interpreting and applying NSW Government legislation to ensure compliant and consistent recruitment practices.
  • Proficient in using workforce data and trends to inform recruitment planning and drive strategic hiring decisions.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Significant experience in internal recruitment with experience in interpreting policy or legislative requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing recruitment teams and identifying and delivering targeted recruitment strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
