Job summary

Weir Minerals Asia Pacific in Eight Mile Plains, QLD, is seeking a senior in technical sales and business development to drive tailings strategy across APAC. You will partner with customers and EPCMs to create integrated solutions, influence decisions from study phases to delivery, and coach regional teams toward high-quality outcomes.

The role requires strong engineering insight, stakeholder influence, and a focus on safety. Hybrid work model with a global mining solutions leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical sales, business development, engineering, or product strategy within mining and minerals.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex pursuits.
• Desirable qualification in Mechanical or Process Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC tailings strategy and drive market growth with scalable customer solutions.
• Partner with customers, EPCMs and stakeholders to develop integrated tailings solutions.
• Identify strategic opportunities from early studies through delivery.
• Support technical validation, proposal development and executive engagement.

What you’ll do

• Lead Weir Minerals’ APAC tailings strategy, driving market growth through innovative and scalable customer solutions.
• Partner with customers, EPCMs, and stakeholders to develop integrated tailings solutions that improve performance, sustainability, and lifecycle value.
• Identify and advance strategic project opportunities, influencing decisions from early study phases through to project delivery.
• Support technical validation, proposal development, and executive-level engagement to position Weir as a trusted tailings solutions partner.
• Build regional capability by coaching sales teams, developing customer-facing resources, and aligning cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience in technical sales, business development, engineering, or product strategy within the mining and minerals sector.
• Strong understanding of tailings management, including thickening, dewatering, slurry transport, water recovery, and lifecycle optimisation.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead complex project pursuits, and engage at executive and study levels.
• Qualification in Mechanical, Process, or a related Engineering discipline is desirable.
• Experience supporting test work programs, flowsheet development, and integrated tailings solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling customer value propositions.
