Job summary

The University of Western Australia (UWA) invites applications for a Systems Engineer to support the SKA-Mid Frequency Distribution System at ICRAR. The role combines office-based design work with hands-on lab integration and testing, in a collaborative international environment.

The position is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term appointment with a base salary of AU$120,912–AU$132,161 per year plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification plus extensive experience in systems engineering.
• Experience applying lifecycle principles to complex technical systems including architecture and interface management.
• Proficiency with RAMS analyses, FMEA and engineering change control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the architecture, requirements, interfaces and baselines for the SKA-Mid Frequency Distribution System in line with SKAO standards.
• Lead requirements engineering, trade studies, RAMS, FMEA, configuration and verification planning; produce specs and test procedures.
• Collaborate across office-based and lab environments with SKAO, partner institutions and industry to resolve complex technical issues.
