Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) seeks a Systems Engineer to lead the application of Systems Engineering methodologies across projects. You will implement robust data, documentation, and integration practices while advancing PLM and enterprise architecture alignment.

You will contribute to complex defence programs, require a Defence Security Clearance, and bring strong experience in PLM, requirements management, and design traceability to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
  • Tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Systems Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong expertise in PLM/Configuration Management tools, requirements management, design traceability, and configuration control.
  • Proven track record delivering engineering solutions, change management initiatives, continuous improvement programs, and implementation outcomes.
  • Experience working within complex projects, quality assurance frameworks, and business improvement processes to deliver effective outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering technical and capability documentation for complex customers, including repository and engineering process management.
  • Defence industry experience across areas such as ILS, Production, Verification & Validation (V&V), Systems Safety, C4I, Cyber Security, Product Management, and regulatory/compliance activities (e.g., Class and Lloyd’s Register submissions).
