Job summary

GPC Asia Pacific in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Systems Developer to join our Business Systems Solutions Group. Reporting to the Application Team Lead, you'll design, develop, enhance and support our mainframe-based ERP environment, with a focus on CICS COBOL expertise.

This role is ideal for a developer who thrives on solving complex integration challenges and collaborating with analysts, BI and external providers to map interfaces and implement new functionality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mainframe design and development experience.
• Hands-on with CICS, COBOL, MVS, JCL, TSO and databases DB2/Datacom-DB/VSAM.
• Tertiary IT qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug and deploy mainframe applications.
• Support and enhance core ERP system.
• Map interfaces between legacy and new systems.
• Prepare solution and design documentation with Business Analysts.
• Assess solution options for technical and business fit.
• Prepare testing schedules and environments.

GPC Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Systems Developer to join our Business Systems Solutions Group.

Reporting to the Application Team Lead, you will design, develop, enhance and support business-critical solutions within our core mainframe-based ERP environment. This role is ideal for a developer with deep CICS COBOL expertise who enjoys solving complex integration and application challenges.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, develop, test, debug and deploy mainframe application solutions.
• Support and enhance GPC Asia Pacific’s core mainframe-based ERP system.
• Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems.
• Partner with Business Analysts to prepare solution and design documentation.
• Assess solution options for technical and business suitability.
• Prepare and oversee testing schedules, environments and test strategies.
• Coordinate implementation of new functionality and system changes.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Systems Integration, PMO, developers and third-party providers.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation.
