Advance your consulting career and join the FinXL Federal Government Practice as a Systems Analyst supporting a major, long-term program of work with a Federal Government client.
In this role, you will act as a key technical anchor within our consulting team, evaluating business processes, defining system specifications, and supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of system enhancements across critical public sector services.
Requirements & Design: Elicit, document, and manage functional/non-functional requirements (SFIA Level 3) for software applications and component interfaces.
Solution Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive solution documents, technical specifications, and system design views to address stakeholder needs.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct test coverage reviews, formal/informal test execution, and quality reviews of specification/design documents.
Operational Support & Lifecycles: Monitor performance of active business solutions, manage authorised change requests, and support the continuous lifecycle of system improvements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex technical details for non-technical audiences, manage risks, and collaborate across Agile teams to resolve operational issues.
APS Standards Compliance: Adhere to government digital and technology standards, privacy regulations, WHS protocols, and the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Experience: 3-5 years of commercial experience as a Systems Analyst, ideally within government or large-scale enterprise environments.
SFIA Level 3 Competencies:
Requirements Definition & Management: Demonstrated experience defining scoping, baseline requirements, and traceability for change initiatives.
Software Design: Proven track record in complete design of moderately complex software applications, components, and user/system interfaces.
Technical & Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, critical thinking, risk assessment, and Agile delivery experience.
Desirable Skills: Exposure to Feasibility Assessments (SFIA Level 3) and User Experience Evaluations (SFIA Level 2).
Duration: Initial 12-month contract with strong potential for extension.
Locations: Open to candidates located in Canberra and Adelaide.
Work Arrangement: Full-time on-site for the initial 6 weeks, transitioning to a flexible hybrid arrangement thereafter.
