Job summary

DNEG, a world-leading visual effects and animation company, is seeking a Systems Administrator to ensure smooth IT operations across our global network. The role focuses on day-to-day support, projects to improve a large Linux-based infrastructure, and proactive maintenance.

You will work as part of a team delivering 2nd/3rd line support, managing NetApps, Dell servers, and databases, while ensuring tools like SaltStack and Jenkins run reliably across sites including Sydney, Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent subject
• Previous experience as a Systems Administrator
• Extensive experience working with Linux systems
• Excellent knowledge of Python, Perl and Bash
• Extensive experienced user of GIT and Subversion
• Experience working with a ticketing systems, ideally JIRA
• Ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to global infrastructure
• Manage Linux systems, NetApps and Dell fire servers
• Maintain large MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
• Ensure SaltStack and Jenkins are working correctly
• Create reports and diagnose issues using monitoring systems (Sensu, Graphite, Ganglia)

The Technology department at DNEG isin chargeofthe smooth running of the entire IT infrastructure across our global network.Our System Administrators play a key part because their role entails day-today support but also project work to sustain and improve our large, primarily Linux, infrastructure.

Working as a team, they provide 2ndand 3rdline technical support to our global infrastructure including support for ourNetappsand Dell fire servers running XFS, NFS, CIFS as well as our SGI DMF backup systems. Systems Administrators also manage and maintain our large MySQL andPostgresdatabases while alsoensuringsaltstackand Jenkins are working correctly. Reports and diagnose issues will be required using our monitoring systems,sensu, graphite and ganglia.

Must Have

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent subject
