Job summary

CSIRO, in collaboration with Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, seeks a System Administrator to support and maintain large-scale storage and computing infrastructure across Australia. You will administer Linux-based systems, Ceph/object storage, and archival storage, contributing to highly available research data services and operating within a skilled team.

The role covers enterprise-scale storage, cloud technologies, HPC environments and Linux administration, with a focus on reliability,

Qualifications

Experience in Linux/Unix systems administration.
Experience with storage platforms and research infrastructure.
Ability to learn related systems, tools and services.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

Support the operation and maintenance of large-scale storage and computing infrastructure.
Administer Linux-based systems and storage platforms used by Australia's research community.
Assist with operation of object storage and archival storage.
Troubleshoot system issues and improve workflows.
Respond to and resolve support requests within service levels.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service enhancements.
Collaborate with researchers, vendors and stakeholders.
