Job summary

NCS Australia seeks an experienced Linux / HPC Administrator to join a high-performing team supporting critical HPC environments. You will administer, optimise and support large-scale Linux-based HPC infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include managing HPC clusters, configuring Slurm, performing capacity planning, and collaborating with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Slurm for job scheduling and resource management.
• Experience with BCM (Bright Cluster Manager) or equivalent HPC cluster management.
• Strong understanding of compute, storage, and networking in HPC environments.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languages for automation.
• Knowledge of system monitoring and performance optimisation.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux-based HPC environments.
• Manage and optimise HPC clusters and infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Slurm.
• Perform system monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Support patching, upgrades, automation, and configuration management.
• Ensure availability, security, and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support backup/recovery.
• Investigate incidents and performance issues; contribute to automation.
