Job summary

Snowy Hydro in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join the Platform Engineering and Data Ops team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will design, build and test core data pipelines across the Enterprise Data Platform using Snowflake, Python and SQL.

The role focuses on implementing Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and building native integrations with SAP and ServiceNow, while embedding data quality, CI/CD and AI-assisted coding practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Snowflake data engineering experience.
• Proven ability to design Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Experience with SAP and ServiceNow data connectors.
• CI/CD for data models using Git and automation.
• AI-assisted coding and governance guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end Medallion data pipelines (Bronze-Silver-Gold).
• Design and deploy Snowflake-native data models using Python/SQL.
• Implement data quality, masking, and observability with automated tests.
• Develop AI-assisted coding practices and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Governance and Analytics teams.
