Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join the Platform Engineering and Data Ops team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Sydney. The role focuses on designing, building, and testing core data pipelines across the Enterprise Data Platform, with emphasis on Medallion architecture and Snowflake-based data modeling.

• Deep hands-on Snowflake experience and data transformation skills.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data modeling and pipelines.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Knowledge of native connectors to SAP and ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end Medallion pipeline architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Design, implement and test enterprise data models using Snowflake and Python/SQL.
• Deploy data models through CI/CD pipelines with automated tests and observability.
• Implement data quality validations, masking, and pipeline monitoring.
