Job summary

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with customers to turn research breakthroughs into production systems. As a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Sydney, you will lead end-to-end deployments and own the technical design, build, and rollout with customer engineering teams.

You will measure success by production adoption and impact on workflows, collaborating with Product, Research, Partnerships, GRC, Security, and GTM to shape roadmaps. Hybrid work with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Extensive deployment experience in production environments.
• Ability to scope work and design end-to-end systems.
• Experience with customer-facing deployments and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across deployments from prototype to production.
• Build full-stack systems delivering customer value.
• Embed with customer teams and drive adoption.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers.
• Trade off scope, speed, and quality to protect delivery.
• Contribute code when needed.
• Codify patterns into reusable tools and playbooks.
• Share field feedback to inform product decisions.
• Maintain progress with clarity and follow-through.
