Job summary

The Y Victoria invites applications for a Swim Teacher at Yarrawonga Outdoor Pool. This casual role involves developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school aged children, combining stroke development with water safety and boosting confidence.

You will structure lessons, recommend progression, model problem solving, and provide excellent customer service to parents and students.

Qualifications

• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
• Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent).

Responsibilities

About the Centre

Moira Shire Council has a number of aquatic and recreation facilities that are managed by YMCA Victoria. They include two stadiums: Cobram Sports Stadium and Nathalia Sports & Community Centre; an indoor fitness and aquatic centre at the Numurkah Aquatic & Fitness Centre; Seasonal Swimming Pools at Yarrawonga, Cobram, Strathmerton, Numurkah and Nathalia; and the Yarrawonga Foreshore Kiosk and Splash Park.

About the role

As a Swim Teacher at Yarrawonga Outdoor Pool, you will be developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school aged children, combining stroke development with water safety and enhancing the overall confidence and ability of your students.

• Structure and design lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
• Recommend students for level progression as appropriate
• Teach and model effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This is a Casual role with an hourly rate up to $34.96 + super & Y Benefits.

About you

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher!
