Job summary

Belgravia Leisure seeks a swimming teacher at Whittlesea Swim Centre, City of Whittlesea, VIC. This casual role requires mornings, evenings and weekend shifts, and a passion for teaching children water safety.

You will deliver engaging swimming lessons, maintain high safety standards (OHS), and provide excellent customer service to members, parents and staff while collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Energetic, innovative and decisive teaching style.
• Understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility.
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends and be empathetic to class needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR certification.
• Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
• SWIM Teaching Certificate held by candidate.
• Desirable: Infant/Preschool Aquatics and Aquatics Access & Inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Teach effective swimming and water safety to help grow the swim program.
• Deliver lessons in mornings, evenings and weekends as a casual role.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and patrons to maximise benefit and enjoyment.
• Maintain safety standards and support centre operations.

The Role

As a Swimming Teacheryou will teach effective Swimming and Water Safety to help grow our swim program. This will be a casual role, therefore requiring you to work mornings, evenings and weekends and must be empathetic to the needs of the centre.

You will have a passion for swimming and making children safer around the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun, with a flair for working with children. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure swim school members, patrons and parents are gaining maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.

Previous experience and success in a comparable role is not essential but highly regarded
