Job summary

Belgravia Leisure in Oakey, QLD is seeking a dedicated Swim Teacher to deliver effective swimming and water safety lessons for children. You will support our growing program with an energetic, engaging teaching style and a strong customer service focus.

You may work mornings, evenings and weekends. The role requires empathy for diverse learners, excellent communication with students and parents, and commitment to safety, OH&S, and lifeguard-like responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Energetic and decisive teaching style.
• OHS and public safety knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current First Aid (Level 2).
• Current CPR certificate.
• Blue Card holder.
• AUSTSWIM Certificate - Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety.
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infants.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming and water safety to grow the swim program.
• You may be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents to maximise benefit.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and OH&S within the facility.

The Role

As a Swim Teacher you will teach effective Swimming and Water Safety to help grow our swim program. Youmay be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends and must be empathetic to the needs of the classes.

You will have a passion for swimming and making children safer around the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun, with a flair for working with children. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure swim school members, patrons and parents are gaining maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.

• An understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility
