Job description

The Fairfield City Swim Academy is seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to join its innovative team in the position of Swim Academy Coordinator.

The successful applicant will be responsible for staff management, coordination of all Swim Academy programs, organising, implementing and conducting the Swim Academy's services, including Learn to swim classes, squad coaching, school programs etc.

The position is required to coordinate the process of all Aquatic/waterpark program enquiries and bookings, display and maintain a high standard of professionalism in the position, performing administrative duties related to the role and the Swim Academy.

You will be working closely within a team environment overseeing permanent and casual swim academy staff, the coordinator is organised able to meet deadlines and enjoys a challenge, there are new ideas to be implemented and we encourage staff to use their initiative, strive to continue to broaden the swim academy.

ESSENTIAL: When applying for the position it is necessary to describe the level of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience required for the position including:

  • Must have relevant industry qualifications Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate from any of the following Organisations Austswim, Royal Life Saving Swim Australia,
  • CPR Certificate
  • Working with Children’s Check.
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience within the Aquatic Industry
  • Strong understanding of the Aquatic and Learn-to-Swim industry and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with facility management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development & implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision/management of staff.
  • Describe additional knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial to the position

DESIRABLE:

  • Relevant industry qualifications in extension Certification eg Access and Inclusion, Infants and Pre School or Competitive Strokes
  • Coaching Qualification.
  • Assessor Certification

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 76 hours per fortnight between 5am -11pm Monday to Sunday. Commencing and finishing times will be flexible and depend on operational needs.
  • This position is a Grade 4, salary range is $77,652 p.a. with progression to $81,577p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $90,957p.a, plus 12% Super
  • Position includes Sick leave and Annual leave entitlements.
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
