Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Sustainability Project Officer to advance sustainability objectives for the region. You will work with internal teams and external stakeholders to shape policies and programs, from documenting projects to facilitating workshops and delivering outcomes that benefit the community.

The role requires ability to manage multiple initiatives, strong communication, and a proactive, practical approach to driving sustainability results.

Qualifications

• Understanding of sustainability principles; experience delivering related projects or initiatives.
• Strong communication skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Proven organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects within timeframes.
• Sound problem-solving skills with ability to research, analyse, and develop solutions.
• Ability to operate MS Office and quickly learn Council systems.

Responsibilities

• Advance Council’s sustainability objectives by delivering a range of projects and programs.
• Prepare project documentation, run workshops, and drive outcomes for the community and Council.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to shape policies and strategies.
