Job summary

JBS is seeking a Sustainability Project Engineer based at the Brooklyn facility, supporting four regional processing sites. You will lead end-to-end capex projects driving sustainability and operational excellence across the Southern Division.

The role requires a strong engineering background and a proven track record in capital budgeting. You will develop financial costings, present business cases to senior management and collaborate with site leadership to deliver savings and safe, compliant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mech Eng preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering role within FMCG environment.
• Proven experience in managing capital budgets and sustainability engineering projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian safety standards and sustainability engineering compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and project manage delivery of capex projects and process improvements.
• Develop financial costings, present business cases for senior management, submit capital projects with Plant leadership.
• Manage nominated capital projects from initiation to completion, including auditing savings.
• Scope large capex projects related to energy, water, waste, and environmental impacts.
• Identify and assess new technologies to support sustainability strategy.
• Use data-driven approaches to identify root causes of sustainability issues and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate across business units and engage with external parties and specialists.
• Work with corporate, business units, and site teams to build a sustainable and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley, with regular reviews.
