Job summary

JBS Southern Operations Office in Maidstone VIC is seeking a Project Engineer based at our Brooklyn facility, supporting four regional processing sites. You will lead end-to-end capex projects delivering sustainability and efficiency improvements across the Southern Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mech Eng preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering role within FMCG environment.
• Proven experience in managing capital budgets and sustainability engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and project manage the delivery of innovative capex projects and process improvements across the business.
• Develop financial costings, present business cases for senior management, prepare and submit capital projects.
• Manage nominated capital projects from initiation, design, costing, proposal submission, approval, and implementation through to completion, including auditing savings.
• Scope large capex projects relating to energy, water, waste, and other environmental impacts.
• Identify and assess new technologies and innovations across energy, waste, water, animal care, and people safety to support sustainability strategy.
• Use a data-driven approach to understand root causes of sustainability issues and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate across business units and engage with external bodies and specialists.
• Work with corporate, business units, and site teams to build a sustainable and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley, and facilitate team training.
