Job summary

RPS Group is seeking a motivated Surveyor to join our Sydney CBD team. The role supports field and operational surveying across infrastructure and development projects, with mentoring opportunities from experienced Surveyors and the Survey Manager.

You will work on set-out, as-constructed, boundary marking and cadastral tasks, while developing skills in GNSS and data capture. This is an ideal step for someone studying surveying with 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in surveying or currently studying toward it.
• 2+ years of surveying experience.
• Strong understanding of survey technologies and equipment (GNSS, Total Stations).
• Knowledge of NSW survey legislation, standards and guidelines.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to communicate effectively and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fieldwork functions: set-out, as-constructed, volumetric, conformance, detail and level surveys; boundary marking.
• Carry out field surveys using accepted techniques and good surveying practice.
• Assist with cadastral and engineering survey projects.
• Organise resources for field crews: equipment checks, vehicle prep and loading materials.
• Maintain, calibrate and store survey equipment properly.
• Monitor supplies and assist with equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Manage rechargeable batteries for survey instruments and tools.
• Report equipment faults to the Surveyor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment safe, clean and ready for field deployment.
• Contribute ideas to support efficient and safe project delivery.
