Bennett + Bennett is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to lead major projects from the Toowoomba region with flexible Brisbane-based options and regular site travel. You will oversee resources, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, while mentoring survey staff and ensuring high-quality delivery across FIFO/DIDO operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical guidance, and collaboration with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to optimise project outcomes and maintain safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Surveying or higher; registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland or another state is highly regarded.
• 12d Model knowledge is essential; experience with Trimble and Leica equipment is highly regarded.
• 10+ years of surveying experience across a range of activities within the surveying industry.
• Proficient with surveying equipment and software packages; strong methodologies in surveying.
• Knowledge of Machine Control Systems and model generation is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and stakeholders; detail-oriented and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Manage project resources, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships to ensure delivery of high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and internal units to integrate processes, technologies, and training.
• Coordinate Toowoomba-based staff across regional and FIFO/DIDO operations, including major projects; work with Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast teams.
• Oversee rostering, travel arrangements, and logistical planning for site employees.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to survey staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities; ensure clear communication.
• Review progress and performance of project teams and assist Site Survey Managers with resource planning.

Job Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Brisbane

Bennett + Bennett is seeking an experienced Survey Manager or a motivated Senior Surveyor ready to step into a Survey Manager role supporting our Toowoomba team and wider FIFO/DIDO major projects. The role will preferably be based in our Toowoomba office; however, we are open to a Brisbane-based arrangement with regular travel to Toowoomba and other project sites to stay connected with site teams. Your Role and Impact:

• Manage project resources, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and internal business units to ensure seamless integration of processes, technologies, and training.
• Coordinate Toowoomba-based staff across regional and FIFO/DIDO operations, including Snowy 2.0 and Coal Seam Gas projects. Work closely with other Survey Managers supporting teams in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.
• Oversee workforce rostering, travel arrangements, and logistical planning for employees working on major project sites.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to survey staff to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in project delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
• Review the progress and performance of project teams across the division, assisting Site Survey Managers in resource identification and improvements to delivery systems

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Surveying; registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (or another state) highly regarded.
• Strong 12d model knowledge is essential, with broader experience using Trimble and Leica survey equipment highly regarded.
• 10+ years’ experience in range of surveying activities within the Surveying Industry.
• Proficient with range of surveying equipment, sound understanding of methodologies concerning surveying and competency in a range of surveying software packages
• Knowledge of Machine Control Systems and model generation is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
