Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Fixed Term Clinical Superintendent (12 months, 1.0 FTE) for the Department of General Surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. The appointee will act as a junior consultant, bridging junior surgical staff and senior leadership, and will manage rostering and wellbeing for junior staff.

Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent, be registered with the Medical Board of Australia, and may be eligible for fellowship within 6

Qualifications

• Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the surgical specialty.
• Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice.
• Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team with colleagues.
• Excellent communication with patients and peers.
• Organisational, supervision and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to education, training and research as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Administers rostering and wellbeing support for junior surgical staff at Westmead Hospital.
• Oversees day-to-day rostering and resource management for the surgical unit.
• Supports clinical leadership and quality improvement activities.
