Job summary

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) is seeking a General Surgical Fellow for the 2027 clinical year at Coffs Harbour Health Campus. The role reports to the Clinical Director of Surgery and leads the Acute Surgical Unit, delivering high-quality general emergency surgery and coordinating outpatient services on site.

This temporary full-time position runs 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2028, with a 40-hour week. GESA accreditation is required; applicants must have Australian work rights.

Qualifications

• GESA accreditation required.
• Applicants must have valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).
• This is a Category A position.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Acute Surgical Unit to deliver comprehensive clinical care.
• Perform a wide range of general emergency surgeries.
• Manage and run outpatient clinics.
• Participate in the consultant on-call roster.
• Assist in the education and administrative roles within the department.
