Job summary

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support the surgical team in the Albury theatre. You will help set up, maintain equipment and assist with patient positioning and preparation.

This role requires excellent technical and problem‑solving skills, strict infection control, and the ability to work calmly in a fast‑paced, sterile environment, collaborating closely with nurses, surgeons and anaesthetists.

Qualifications

• Theatre technician certification is desirable.
• Experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating theatre equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery and set up non-sterile equipment.
• Maintain and check theatre equipment during procedures.
• Ensure strict infection control protocols are followed.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues promptly.
• Assist the surgical team and maintain a safe theatre environment.
