Southpaws Malvern is a specialist-led hospital across Surgery, Anaesthesia and Emergency & Critical Care, offering an exceptional clinical environment for veterinary nurses who are passionate about high standards of patient care. We are seeking a Surgical Nurse to join our Malvern team on a full-time basis.

You will work closely with our specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, Criticalists and nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care, including surgical preparation, intra-operative support,

Qualifications

  • Schooled veterinary nursing with certification.
  • Minimum clinical experience of 2 years.
  • Experience in surgical and/or referral hospital preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures.
  • Confidence assisting with surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Experience in anaesthetic monitoring.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A professional, positive and team-focused approach.

Full-time Position Available – Surgical Nurse
Southpaws Specialty Surgery & Emergency Hospital – Malvern

Southpaws Malvern is a specialist-led hospital across all three departments: Surgery, Anaesthesia and Emergency & Critical Care (ECC), offering an exceptional clinical environment for veterinary nurses who are passionate about high standards of patient care.

The role

We are seeking a Surgical Nurse to join our Malvern team on a full time basis. In this role, you will work closely with our specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, Criticalists and nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care. You will be involved in surgical preparation, intra-operative support, post-operative care, and anaesthetic monitoring, while maintaining our high clinical and safety standards. Our team work across a rotating roster that includes weekend and on-call rotations. Strong communication, organisation and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, specialist referral environment. This role includes mentorship and training, making it a great opportunity for nurses looking to further develop their surgical and anaesthesia skills within a supportive, specialist-led setting.

About you
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience
  • Experience working in a surgical and/or referral hospital environment preferred but not essential
  • Sound knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures
  • Confidence assisting with surgical procedures and patient care
  • Experience in anaesthetic monitoring
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • A professional, positive and team-focused approach
