Job summary

Hofmann Engineering is seeking a reliable Trade Assistant to support the Surface Treatment team on a new production line. The role involves assisting with blasting, painting and bonding processes for components used in major Australian projects.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, a forklift licence or willingness to obtain one, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a structured workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/workshop experience preferred.
• Experience around blasting/painting/surface treatment is a plus.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain.
• Basic understanding of safe material handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload and store incoming raw materials safely.
• Guide powered trolleys to move materials between processing areas.
• Prepare test coupons and components for painting processes.
• Clean and maintain blasting areas and equipment.
• Wash components in the wash bay to required standards.
• Assist with packing and preparation of finished goods.
• Assist with applying bonding agents to prepared surfaces as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
