Trainee Support Workers - Aged Care - SA Flinders Far North

About the role

We are looking for Support Workers to service the Flinders Far North area. Your role will be to assist a diverse range of clients including aged and high needs clients with activities of daily living and providing support services in their own home such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite and Personal Care at their home. We strive to provide high quality care to allow our clients to feel as independent as possible while living in their own home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Client Choice, positive routines and activities ensuring they are meaningful to the client as per Calvary home Care's Service Delivery Model.
  • Ability to work shifts in set time blocks/pattern rostering.
  • Ability to drive client/company vehicles
  • Proactive in supporting clients to enhance their life choices both at home and in the community
  • Report changes in client's health, care plans or if additional services are needed
  • Review regularly communications received via email, support Worker Connect and other communication methods to ensure current knowledge of policies, procedures and activities across Calvary.
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others within the workplace.
  • Protect the rights and confidentiality of clients by ensuring the care provided maintains client dignity and privacy

Requirements

  • Completion of a minimum of Certificate III in Individualised Support, Home & Community Services, Aged Care or equivalent
  • Current full drivers licence
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • Living in the Southern Suburbs or on the Southern Fleurieu (Highly desirable)
  • Reliable motor vehicle (including valid registration & full comprehensive third party insurance)
  • Smart mobile phone or device
  • NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Police Clearance (within 6 months or willingness to obtain one)
  • Access to the internet and experience using a computer, systems and applications
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
