Allegiance Heart & Home Care is seeking a compassionate Greek-speaking female Support Worker to provide in-home and community-based care for an older client in Prospect, NSW. This casual, ongoing role focuses on personalised, culturally appropriate care and building a trusting relationship with one client.

The worker will assist with personal care, daily activities, mobility, and social engagement in Greek, promoting safety, independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Greek and English required.
• Experience in aged care, disability or community care.
• Certificate III or IV in Ageing/Disability or related field.
• Current National Police Check and NDIA Worker Screening.
• First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to complete digital progress notes.
• Available Monday to Thursday 8:00–11:00.

Responsabilités

• Provide personal care support per the care plan.
• Assist with grooming, dressing, toileting and continence needs.
• Offer social and emotional support and companionship in Greek.
• Engage client with Greek music and culturally familiar activities.
• Support mobility with supervised walking and regular rests.
• Assist with community access, outings, shopping or appointments.
• Encourage independence in daily routines.
• Provide light domestic assistance as needed.
• Close supervision during mobility due to falls risk.
• Record changes in mobility, mood, or wellbeing in notes.
• Follow care plans, risk controls and policies.

Allegiance Heart & Home Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Greek-speaking female Support Worker to provide regular in-home and community-based support to an older female client living in Prospect.

This is a consistent ongoing role suited to someone who values building a trusting relationship with one client and providing culturally appropriate, person-centred care.

The client enjoys Greek music, meaningful conversation, gentle walking and community activities. She requires a calm and patient worker who can support her emotional wellbeing, encourage her independence and assist her to remain safe and engaged.

Due to the client’s personal-care needs, language preference and cultural requirements, applicants must be female and able to communicate fluently in Greek.

Key responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide:

• Personal care support in accordance with the client’s care plan
• Assistance with grooming, dressing, toileting and continence needs as required
• Social and emotional support
• Companionship and meaningful conversation in Greek
• Engagement through Greek music and culturally familiar activities
• Supervised walking and encouragement to take regular rest breaks
• Community access, including short outings, shopping or appointments
• Assistance with daily routines while encouraging independence
• Light domestic assistance where required
• Close supervision during mobility due to an increased falls risk
• Observation and reporting of changes in mobility, mood, behaviour, pain or wellbeing
• Accurate digital progress notes following each shift
• Compliance with care plans, risk controls and organisational policies

Applicants must have:

• Fluency in Greek and English
• Previous experience in aged care, disability support or community care
• Experience providing personal care
• A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Ageing, Disability or a related qualification
• Current National Police Check
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Ability to complete digital progress notes
• Strong communication, observation and reporting skills
• Availability Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am
• A respectful, patient and person-centred approach
