Job summary

Interact Australia seeks a dedicated Support Worker to help clients achieve goals in their NDIS plans. You will provide person-centred assistance, support independence, and assist with community participation, skill building and daily living tasks.

Work autonomously, document progress, and collaborate with families. The role requires NDIS worker screening, Orientation, valid driver’s license, and commitment to inclusive, disability-led service.

Qualifications

• Experience with Personal Care.
• Experience with Manual Handling (Ceiling Hoist Transfers).
• Experience with Mental Heath.
• Experience with Epilepsy and Seizure Management.
• Working with Children.
• NDIS Worker Screening.
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
• An understanding of NDIS and its principles.
• A passion for assisting individuals with disability to improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous support to maintain and improve the client’s independence, including community participation, skill building and daily living tasks.
• Respond to client needs and collaborate positively with families, support people and others in their lives.
• Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes.
• Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct.
• Shifts: Wednesday 7am-4pm and Sunday (Fortnightly) 9am-4pm, with potential for additional shifts.

About the Role

This role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;

Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.

Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.

Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes

Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Shifts: Wednesday 7am-4pm and Sunday (Fortnightly) 9am-4pm - with potential for increase shifts in this area.

Who you are

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has the following attributes;

Experience with Personal Care

An understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principles

A passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life and to reach their potential

Driver's Licence and own car, and a willingness to use for transporting clients (where required, mileage reimbursed)

Please note:The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
