Job summary

Kirinari Community Services is seeking caring individuals for in-home aged care in Rockhampton, QLD. The roles include part-time and casual opportunities providing person-centered support in clients’ homes, with a focus on independence and quality of life.

Applicants should be willing to perform personal care, have a compassionate approach, and hold a current First Aid/CPR certificate along with a valid driver’s license. Travel to client homes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Personal care including toileting, bathing, oral hygiene and related needs.
• Meal preparation and planning for daily meals.
• Transport to medical appointments, social engagements, shopping and other outings.

We currently have permanent part-time and casual opportunities in Rockhampton, QLD for Support Workers (Aged) to join our dynamic team.

What your Day-to-Day will look like:

In this role, you will be invested in providing a person-centered approach to enrich the lives of our customers within their own homes. Identifying and assessing customer needs, we go above and beyond to support them in their day to day living and encourage them to exercise choice and control.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Personal care: this may include toileting, bathing, showering, oral hygiene, and other personal hygiene needs.
• Meal Preparation: cooking, food preparation and meal planning.
• Transport: transport to medical appointments, social engagements, shopping (including assisting with shopping) and other outings as required.
• Social Support: welfare checks, fostering meaningful connections, offering empathetic companionship, and maintaining their connection to the community.
• Domestic Assistance: duties such as (but not limited to) vacuuming, laundry, general cleaning, dusting, washing dishes, cleaning windows, cleaning carpets, making beds, basic home, and garden maintenance.

• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’.
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to undertake travel in accordance with responsibilities of the role.
• Working with Children's and NDIS Screening checks.
