Job summary

City of Kingston is seeking Support Workers to provide compassionate, in-home care to Kingston residents who are elderly, frail, or living with disabilities. Roles include domestic duties, meal preparation and personal care within a flexible, team-based Home Support environment.

Positions offer average five-hour daily shifts over four or five days, with Band 1 or Band 2 pay depending on qualification, and opportunities for professional development in community-based aged care.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current driver's licence and your own registered and insured vehicle.
  • Employee Working with Children Check or willing to obtain.
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support/Aged Care/Disability (for Band 2 role).

Responsibilities

  • Provide domestic assistance in clients' homes (light housework).
  • Help clients prepare meals.
  • Assist clients in accessing the community (accompany to supermarket).
  • Provide personal care.

Physical Health Assessment - Support Worker

  • Band 1: $32.44 per hour plus superannuation (non-qualified)
  • Band 2: $33.80 per hour plus superannuation (qualified)
  • Location: Residential homes and the communities in and around the Kingston and Frankston municipalities
We have the following positions available

We are looking for support workers who are interested in working an average of five hours each day over a four- or five-day week.

Opportunities on offer:
  • Band 1: Domestic duties only – no formal qualifications required
  • Band 2: Cert III qualified or Cert IV qualified (desirable)

About the role

As a support worker within the AccessCare team at the City of Kingston, you’ll have the opportunity to assist individuals of all ages, including the elderly and people with disabilities, to remain living independently in their own homes.

Depending on your training, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing domestic assistance to our clients in their homes (such as light housework)
  • Helping clients prepare meals
  • Assisting clients in accessing the community, such as accompanying them to the supermarket
  • Providing personal care
Your Skills and Experience

You will bring exceptional interpersonal skills to foster authentic relationships with our clients. With a naturally kind and compassionate disposition, you are genuinely dedicated to ensuring that our most vulnerable community members feel safe, respected, and heard.

To be successful in this role, you will also need:
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver's licence and your own registered and insured vehicle
  • Employee Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support/Aged Care/Disability (for Band 2 role)
