Job summary

Endeavour Foundation in Darwin is seeking a full-time Support Officer for the Defence Assistance Program at Robertson Barracks. You will support employees with disability, provide coaching, and help them integrate into the Defence community.

The role involves clear task explanations, building skills, maintaining progress notes, and collaborating with Defence staff to ensure high standards of safety and productivity. Australian citizenship for clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disability is an advantage.
• Australian Citizen required for Baseline Security Clearance.
• Great communicator who can explain tasks clearly and handle different situations.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide a small group of employees with disability in their day-to-day work.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and encouragement to help build skills and confidence.
• Help your team settle into the workplace, understand tasks, and feel part of the Defence community.
• Keep simple progress notes and support plans up to date.
• Work closely with Defence staff to ensure work is done safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Attend training, team meetings, and follow workplace safety and support procedures.

Support Officer - Defence Assistance Program

We’ve got a unique opportunity for a full-time Support Officer to join our Defence Assistance Program based at the Robertson Barracks in Darwin.

Through this rewarding role, you’ll be helping people with disability feel confident and supported in their jobs – and in this case, supporting the amazing work our Defence personnel do behind the scenes. You are providing inclusive support to our employees in their hands on role and with on the job coaching and daily support.

A bit about the role:

• Support and guide a small group of employees with disability in their day-to-day work
• Provide one-on-one coaching and encouragement to help build skills and confidence
• Help your team settle into the workplace, understand tasks, and feel part of the Defence community
• Keep simple progress notes and support plans up to date
• Work closely with Defence staff to make sure work is getting done safely, on time, and to a high standard
• Attend training, team meetings, and follow workplace safety and support procedures

What we’re looking for:

• Someone with a calm, positive attitude who loves helping others
• Experience working with people with disability is an advantage, we would love someone with the drive, passion and the want to make a difference
• A great communicator who can explain tasks clearly and handle different situations
• Confident using computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Able to work well with others and build good relationships with both your team and the Defence crew
• An Australian Citizen (required to apply for Baseline Security Clearance)
