Job summary

Consolidated Food Co. is hiring a Supply Chain Technology Lead in Sydney to own the technology behind our Procure-to-Pay ecosystem. You will set the technical roadmap, lead a global software engineering team, and work closely with Finance, Procurement and Operations to tackle the most interesting problems.

The role requires hands-on coding, design reviews, and hands-on debugging of partner feeds, APIs, and data flows. The stack includes Python, React, Node, AWS, Camunda, Cleo and NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years in software engineering, enterprise applications or systems integration.
• Experience leading distributed teams and coaching developers in remote settings.
• Exposure to ERP, finance, procurement or supply-chain platforms.
• Experience with APIs, messaging, ETL, event-driven integration or EDI.
• Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and explain them clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery across ERP, procurement workflows, invoice processing and supplier onboarding.
• Lead and grow the global engineering team, setting technical direction and ensuring security and quality.
• Build reusable API, event-driven and EDI patterns to streamline partner onboarding.
• Investigate complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Job description

We're hiring a Supply Chain Technology Lead in Sydney.

Consolidated Food Co. services restaurant brands that feed around 1.5 million people every day. We started in 2011 and have since rebuilt the old Group Purchasing Organization model into something we call GPO+, a transparent cost+ partnership that lets food brands consolidate supply, take risk out of quality and pricing, and stay steady when commodity markets are anything but, through the use of innovative data and technology products.

We're headquartered in Sydney, with teams located globally across the US, UK, India and Argentina.

All of that runs on our multi-billion dollar Procure-to-Pay ecosystem, and this role owns the technology behind it. You'd report to our Chief Data & Technology Officer, lead our global software engineering team, and spend most of your week working alongside Finance, Procurement and Operations, which is where the interesting problems usually start.

We're looking for someone who is genuinely hands-on. You'll set the technical roadmap and direct the team's work, but you'll also be in the design reviews, in the integration logs when a partner feed breaks, and in the code when it matters.

Day to day that looks like:

• Owning solution design and delivery across ERP, procurement workflows, invoice processing and supplier onboarding
• Leading and growing the global engineering team, setting technical direction and assuring the security and quality of what ships
• Building reusable API, event-driven and EDI patterns so that onboarding a new partner stops being a project every single time
• Digging into the complex production issues nobody else has been able to close out
• Lifting observability across the estate through better monitoring, alerting and root-cause work
• Finding where intelligent document processing and AI-assisted operations can take the manual grind out of exception handling

Our stack is Python, React, Node and AWS, with Camunda, Cleo and NetSuite across the P2P estate.

Beyond that, the background we're hoping to see is:

• Eight to ten years in software engineering, enterprise applications or systems integration, some of it as a senior developer or technical lead
• A track record leading and coaching developers across distributed teams, with the habits that make remote engineering work
• Real exposure to ERP, finance, procurement or supply-chain platforms and how end-to-end P2P actually works
• Practical experience with APIs, messaging, ETL, event-driven integration or EDI, including the unglamorous production troubleshooting side
• The judgement to make sound technical trade-offs and explain them to people who don't write code

This is a build role as much as a run role. The team and the estate are both growing, and it's set up to expand into broader ownership of our Core Systems domain over time.
