Job summary

CHEP Australia, part of Brambles, is seeking a Program Manager – Supply Chain Operations Excellence to lead complex improvement programs across our nationwide network. You will partner with Supply Chain leaders to identify opportunities, solve problems and turn ideas into measurable improvements in safety, productivity and service.

Qualifications

• Strong experience delivering Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or Operations Excellence programs.
• Experience leading complex, multi-site, national scope projects from idea to implementation.
• Proven track record delivering measurable operational and commercial outcomes.
• Commercial acumen with ability to translate improvement into business value.
• Experience across a national network environment and stakeholder management.
• Six Sigma Green Belt training or equivalent and formal PM qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead major Supply Chain projects focused on safety, customer experience, productivity, efficiency and cost reduction.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and take them from concept through to implementation.
• Lead continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across our national operations.
• Coach project leads to build greater continuous improvement capability.
• Establish strong project governance and manage multiple programs, milestones and deliverables.
• Design, implement and standardise improved work processes across the network.
• Use data and insights to understand problems, test opportunities and measure results.
• Identify and translate best practice from the Brambles network and external organisations.
• Lead regional delivery of global programs including sustainability and Global Operations Excellence.

We’re looking for an experienced Program Manager – Supply Chain Operations Excellence to lead complex improvement and transformation programs across CHEP Australia’s national operations network.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply manage project plans and timelines. You’ll partner with Supply Chain leaders and operational teams to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and turn ideas into measurable operational outcomes across our network.

With a footprint spanning 21 CHEP service centres and multiple subcontracted service centres across Australia, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how we operate at scale, improving safety, customer outcomes, productivity and efficiency.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Leading major Supply Chain projects focused on safety, customer experience, productivity, efficiency and cost reduction;
• Identifying operational improvement opportunities and taking them from concept through to implementation;
• Leading continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across our national operations;
• Coaching project leads operational teams to build greater continuous improvement capability;
• Establishing strong project governance and managing multiple programs, milestones and deliverables;
• Designing, implementing and standardising improved work processes across the network;
• Using data and operational insights to understand problems, test opportunities and measure results;
• Identifying and translating best practice from across the global Brambles network and external organisations; and
• Leading regional delivery of global programs including related to our sustainability objectives and Global Operations Excellence.

What will make you successful:

You’ll be equally comfortable in the data, presenting to senior business leaders and working alongside operational teams at site.

We’re looking for:

• Strong experience delivering Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or Operations Excellence programs;
• Experience leading complex, business-wide projects from idea through to implementation;
• A track record of delivering measurable operational and commercial outcomes
• Strong project and change management capability;
• Experience operating across a multi-site or national network environment;
• The ability to analyse complex problems and turn data into clear recommendations and actions;
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority;
• Commercial acumen and an understanding of how operational improvement translates into business value; and
• A proactive mindset and persistence to keep moving complex programs forward in an ambiguous environment.

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline are preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt training/certification or equivalent and formal Project Management qualifications will also be highly regarded.
